Patrick and Michele have been leading retreats with Iboga for over a decade. They have served medicine in more than 1,500 ceremonies around the world. They are traditionally trained and have the blessings of their elders to serve medicine as Ngangas (Healers and Seers). Each year, they visit Gabon, Africa, to reconnect with the origins of Iboga medicine and their teachers and deepen their spiritual path within the Bwiti and Mabundi traditions.
They specialize in psycho-spiritual retreats, and with their extensive medical background, they can support the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing. The applications of Iboga are vast, but many come to it to address compulsive behaviors like addictions as well as autoimmune disorders. Although they do not address acute detox from opioids or other substances, they can assist clients in releasing the patterns that created the disorders. They also support clients with tapering from pharmaceuticals and illicit substances. They can work as a bridge between you and your psychiatrist or physician to adjust your medical care before and after your Iboga experience

You need to be off these medications for 2 months. They are very "sticky" so it takes time to get out of your system to be safe. There is a risk of ekg changes and increased serotonin levels that need to be addressed.
SSRI increase Serotnin levels so you will need to safely, with help of your care provider, wean off of your meds. You must be free of all SSRI type meds for 2 weeks min.
Iboga has been used for centuries by the indigenous people of Gabon for the purposes of ceremony, spirituality, healings and hunting (in small amounts). It was only over the past few decades that the interruption of withdrawal was discovered.
You need to know the origin of where you are getting Iboga. There are many sites that offer Iboga that has been adulterated, or not even pure iboga at all. The medicine should be ethically and sustainably harvested through ceremony by the Indigenous people who hold the medicine sacred.
Doing the medicine 'DIY" is not recommended. There are many health and medical factors to be aware of. Also, you will be unsteady on your feet for some time during the medicine effect and falling can be a serious risk.
There is a difference in how these two interact. Ibogaine is one alkaloid of the many alkaloids within Iboga. and while Ibogaine is great for addiction interruption and some psycho-spiritual things, the whole plant Iboga is needed for a deep look into the 'root' of traumas and the causes of 'pain' which leads to addiction - Iboga is the complete answer
